Home»West Virginia's Sesquicentennial Celebration
In a 3 day celebration of the state's 150th birthday,West Virginia’s history was brought to life in a three-dimensional film called “A Century and a Half of West Virginia Pride,” that was projected directly onto the face of the State Capitol. Thousands of people gathered at the Capitol and across the Kanawha River to watch the video which was followed by the spectacular Zambelli fireworks show. For the first time I had ever seen, the fireworks were shot off from the roof of the Capitol. As long as I live I will never see a more spectacular show nor more pride in the people of this state than thy displayed during this event. Happy 150th Birthday West Virginia!
