This was a tough shoot...I probably have 25 or more shots of this exact scene using a number of different setting and filter combinations to try and dampen the backlighting of the centermost trees. I used the .08 Neutral Density filter (solid black) that I usually use for waterfalls to try and cut down the light and the Moose Circular Polarizer which unfortunately gave a slight warmth to the clouds.. and still the yellow tree in the background was slightly over-exposed.
