As I drove to Cooper's Rock State Park one stormy fall afternoon I seen the skies reflecting off the water as I crossed a bridge, I got off the next exit and turned around to hurry back and shoot this scene. I tried a circular polarizer and a .8 Neutral Density filter separately and together to try and hold back the brightness of the sun breaking through the clouds and the reflecting light off the water but I either blew out a small portion of the sky or lost all the color of the trees on the mountain in deep shadow when I underexposed. I elected to keep the one with slightly over-exposed sky.
